DIY video tutorial on how to repair the Samsung CLP-315, CLP-301 laser printer "paper jam" problem, where the paper stops printing about halfway through for no apparent reason. My printer worked great otherwise, but was out of warranty. It would have been less expensive to get a new printer. The problem is a very cheap sensor. This repair takes 15 minutes and is inexpensive. Read the comments below. I got the part from SamsungParts.com. Search for part #0604-001393 thanks :)

Journey with me as I peel back the layers of an HP 4345 MFP printer in order to replace the swing plate and the main gear assemblies. Essentially it's like removing a car engine in order to replace the transmission :) If you think the printer looks intricate, you're right!! It's a spaghetti maze of gears, circuits, wires and cables. If you get lost, you may never get out, LOL! PS For the technicians out there, I soon will be posting a different version of this video with call-outs to label parts. The swing plate is the work horse gear...it interfaces with the fuser and as such is the #1 part to go bad. The main gear interfaces between the two motors and with the rest of the mechanical systems, (including the swing plate and the toner cartridge). Replacing the swing plate without replacing the main gear is like replacing a gear on a bike without replacing the damaged chain. The swing plate is a 1 hour job and the main gear is another 20 minutes...time well spent to assure the printer works like brand new :)

Fading, light spots, and lines are a problem that occurs eventually in many laser printers, and this is an attempt at fixing one. This video describes a different approach to the repair of a Samsung CLP 300 color laser printer. This more in-depth repair presents many opportunities to lubricate a squeaky printer, however I do not in this video. I cannot offer any solid advice as to what type of lubricant to use, but if I was to lube it myself I would use a thicker product like a bearing grease, or maybe white litho - something that would serve to keep junk out, rather than "wicking" it in like a liquid or spray might do.
