A short video (review) about the Brother HL-4050CDN laser color printer. C = color, D = duplex (duble sided), N = network I have had it for a few days now, and I am very satisfied! It comes shipped with the TN130 (US: TN110) cartridges (black: 2500 pages, color; 1500 pages), and can be fitted with high yield cartridges (EU: TN135, US: TN115) (black: 5000 pages, color: 4000 pages). High yield toner refill can be bought at eBay for down to 85$ for four colors (CMYK). The fans run for about 10 minutes after the last print job, even when the printer is set to go to "sleepmode" after 0 minutes. But the fans are very quiet, so it's not a problem. Some reviews around the web states that this printer prints somewhat dull/washed out colors, but I have not experienced that at all! The colors are rich and saturated, and if anything, pictures are a little dark. All in all I am very satisfied with the print quality! I only use it for text and business documents (with graphics), not photos. I use a inkjet for that. Highly recommended! But be aware, it's big and heavy (30 kg / 60 pounds)... :-) PS! I said it prints 2 pages per minutte in duplex mode, but the correct is if course 4 pages (= 8 sides per minute). Single side documents prints at 20 ppm. The printer then produced a perfect test page and was ready to print.
